This year has been full of transition. I first moved from my original hosting provider, DataReturn, because I started getting all kinds of bankruptcy notices while not getting any information from them. I moved everything over to WebECS and it seemed that things were going smoothly until this weekend. All of my sites, database server, and e-mail died sometime early Saturday and didn't come up until about 2PM EST on Sunday. During that time, there was no ability to contact tech support since the only contact method was via a web based tool which was also affected by the outage and thus far, I haven't even gotten an e-mail explaining what happened. They simply disappeared off the face of the earth and are now trying to tell everyone, through their site status page, that nothing happened. Needless to say, proactive action was taken beginning on Sunday morning with setting up a hosting account at a new provider. We apologize for any inconvenience this outage has caused and should have everything settled down by late Monday.

Phase 1 of the rewrite of the Easton Press section is complete.  Several thousand man hours later, I'd like to invite you to the new and improved catalog that not only gives you a cross index for the first time, but also adds nearly 1000 new volumes to the catalog.  Almost all data is now database driven which will lead us right into the second phase of the rewrite of this section - search capability.  Thanks to everyone for your patience in waiting for something I expected to be done nearly 5 months ago and for the fact that I've been pretty much unavailable.  Welcome and as always, this is a work in progress.  If you see any incorrect data and especially if you receive any errors, please let me know.

The Signed Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is nearly sold out status.  There were only a few sets remaining as of 8/29/2001.  Since Douglass Adams is now deceased, there will never be another signed printing of this Classic series.  Order your set now before they are sold out.

One word of caution on Easton Press volumes.  It has become increasingly prevalent with new series that Easton Press releases to see people selling these volumes on eBay at extremely inflated prices.  The Signed Masterpieces of Horror was just released and is currently available from Easton Press.  However, you will find people attempting to sell a single volume in this series for the same price as you could obtain both volumes directly from Easton Press.  This is also occurring with the J.R.R. Tolkien, Signed Anne Rice, and Winnie the Pooh collections along with "A Clockwork Orange".  It is not uncommon to see these collections go for 3 - 5 times what you would pay had you simply picked up the phone and ordered them from Easton Press.  I have witnessed the Anne Rice Signed set sell for in excess of $750 on eBay when you could purchase it for a fraction of that amount.  Ordering in stock volumes from Easton Press not only saves you money, but you get their guarantee to replace a volume or issue a refund in the event the volumes arrive in other than perfect condition.  I strongly encourage everyone purchasing Easton Press volumes to do their research first.  There is no such thing as a "once in a lifetime" event.  Sooner or later every volume Easton Press ever made will become available on the market.  Easton Press can be reached at 1-800-367-4534.

Many people have been asking about the Nelson Mandela signed volume.  It is very important to note that this volume is NOT a first edition.  This means Easton Press can continue to publish the volume as long as Mr. Mandela is willing to sign it.  Easton Press is currently out of stock on this volume, but more are being published right now and will soon become available.  This volume will not truly become out of print until after the passing of Mr. Mandela.  I urge caution on this volume through the sellers on eBay.  I have been watching several sellers on eBay offering many of this volume at prices significantly above Easton Press' issue price.  You can call Easton Press right now and be placed on the waiting list for the when they become available again.  Anyone claiming that this is an out of print volume is either misinformed or misrepresenting the true status of this volume.

There are several passions of mine. None is greater than reading books and learning.  One of the most exquisite collections of books can be obtained from the Easton Press.  These volumes are bound in leather and not only contain the greatest works to ever be written in literature, science, history, and fantasy, but they are prized collectibles in their own rights.  Out here you can access book listings for all of the collections we have tracked down so far.  For some reason Easton Press has never created a website and finding information on these volumes can be difficult.  There are a few collections that Easton Press doesn't even remember creating.  This section is being built for all of the past, present, and future Easton Press collectors to have a central source for as complete of information on these volumes as we can obtain.  The checklists are just a start.  I'm planning on adding scans of the flyers, collection cross references, and backgrounders for collections and individual volumes.  I'd also like to get video tours of the bindery and print facility to offer as well, but tracking someone down at Easton Press isn't very easy.  This is obviously a long term project that will take years to complete, so come back and visit often to see the new stuff that has been added.  If anyone finds some time on their hands and would like to help build this reference, please contact me at the link in the footer to discuss.
